Evening Highlights
Expect to leave with a full belly and plenty of laughs, all while enjoying a captivating murder mystery show that will keep you guessing until the very end!
Who says crime doesn’t pay?
In Riddlesbrood’s Roaring ’20s speakeasy, it pays off big — especially when it supports Macie’s Mission!
It’s 1926, and two bumbling gangs are duking it out over bootleg booze, shady deals, and plenty of cheesy laughs.
Expect shady characters, tommy guns, and more twists than a crooked corkscrew —
so when the action starts, don’t forget to duck!
Feeling parched? Slip into the speakeasy, support Macie’s Mission, and tell ’em “Sharkie” sent ya.
Macie’s Mission supports and fundraises for a cure for Rett Syndrome. Rett Syndrome
is a are neurological disorder that affects mostly girls due to their XX chromosome.
In the world, there are about 350,000 Rett warriors fighting
to keep their independence, gross and fine motor skills as they grow.
We are the Fordyce Family and are excited to host our 5th annual fundraiser,
Cocktails and Murder! At the core of Macie’s Flock is our daughter, Macie.
Macie is 6 years old and was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at 18 months old.
Macie was born small but might and didn’t begin to show signs of regression
until after she celebrated her first birthday.
Once diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, we learned that her future was going to look
much different than we had planned. Rett Syndrome is debilitating leaving Macie
disabled. She has lost the ability to walk, crawl, talk, and use her hands. Rett warriors
live their entire lives relying on family and nurses to provide food, enjoyment, love
and care. BUT there is HOPE! Fundraisers like ours are important to continue
providing funds for research, family support and further research and trials.
Here are just a few reasons why we fundraise for Rett Syndrome Research Trust:
• RSRT funded the discovery of the gene that causes Rett Syndrome (MECP2).
• Funded the discovery of reversibility of Rett Syndrome in mice.
• Funded early gene therapy in Rett Syndrome.
• Designated 18 (and counting) Rett Syndrome Centers of Excellence.
Being a Rett Warrior in 2026 is exciting! We finally have hope for a CURE. Many families prior to Macie have not had the opportunity to visit a team of doctors in one place (CHOP Rett Syndrome Center for Excellence) or have seen volunteer
Rett Warriors enter trials that were met with success! In fact, the first EVER medication has just been approved
by the FDA for Rett Syndrome just two years ago! The Medication, called DAYBUE, is NOT a cure,
but for Macie it increases her focus and ability to engage with her brothers in play.
She also attempts to hold her cup as well as moves her legs in a walking motion when supported by an adult. So exciting!
HERE is where YOU can help! Please consider joining us, Macie’s Mission, by sponsoring our 5th annual event. In the past five years, we have raised $100,000 at our events with 100% of the donations directly donated to IRSF. The support and donated funds go directly to supporting scientific research with a number of research and pharmaceutical companies that have made some breakthroughs in gene therapy and gene replacement giving the Rett Community HOPE.
Please consider becoming a sponsor (sponsor packages available), purchasing a digital ad to advertise her business and sponsorship online and during the event, or donating a raffle basket. Thank you for choosing to be a sponsor and help fight this rare neurological disease and giving kids, like Macie, a chance to independence and happiness.
With graditude,
